Session Two May 14 WMS 3-5 pm
Good afternoon,
A little reminder that we will be meeting tomorrow at WMS starting in Kathy Kinnaird's Room-#307. Here's the flexible Agenda:
Brief overview- Kevin
Helpful hints: Dena Schoen from SMART Technologies ( cloning, put your tools away, magic pen,
pin page, a little Senteo?, document camera, and anything else youwould like to bring to the table)
Breakout groups- Explore/practice in Rooms #307, 207
Closure- Share, question time
I invited Dena Schoen from SMART Technologies who is our Account Representative who will help us out.
I also did a little research and was able to find some answers to some of your questions:
(1) Batteries for the Senteo response systems will be replaced from the OSD Tech Dept. I will see if a battery recharger is worth the time and money.
(2) "Smart Document Cameras" cost about $950.00( 3x the cost of a regular document camera) so we will have to figure out some other options- downloading the Imagemate for the Elmos and possible solution for the AverVision Camera could be identifying it has a scanner.
(3) If you need an extension USB cable, let me know. I ordered two for Wayne and Michelle.
(4) I requested that the IT put the Smart software on all lab/COW computers so it will be part of the new standard image that will be coming out this summer. Students would be able to create/present projects using the SMART software on any district computer- hopefully.
(5) I have been working on the Senteo Response System with a tremendous amount of frustrations. I downloaded the most current upgrade as of last Thursday and it is hanging up everything I try to do . I contacted SMART and they recognize the glitches which they are working on. Hopefully soon.......I suggest that you DO NOT upload the new version until the hangups are fixed.
(6) I will be bringing your Response System to the session on Thursday and you are welcome to take it with you and try it out.
